Valley Primary Health Organisation (PHO)

Valley Primary Health Organisation (VPHO) was established in April 2004 and is registered as a charitable trust. 

As of 1st July 2011 the 21 general practices which belonged to Valley PHO joined Te Awakairangi Health PHO (for further information on Te Awakairangi Health PHO please click here) as part of the plan to merge and consolidate the existing PHOs in the Hutt Valley into one entity. The merge of Valley PHOs existing services and activities will be planned over the next year. The Valley PHO Trust will therefore be continuing until June 2012 whilst this process is underway. The services that Valley Primary Health Organisation (VPHO) has provided in the past year will also continue for a further year, until 30th June 2012. These include a wide range of clinical and practice support activities are 'free' to eligible people, particularly if you are Māori, Pacific People or low income and include:

• Community Dietitian Services
• Outreach Nurses
• Care Plus
• Community Health Service
• Cardiovascular Risk (CVR)
• Cervical Screening Programme
• Healthy Families Coach
• Pharmacy Services
• Health Promotion                          

Valley PHO has a Board of Trustees which oversees the governance of the organisation until 30th June 2012.The PHO Clinical Governance Board will continue until 31st December 2012.
