Valley Primary Health Organisation (PHO) has an exciting opportunity for a GP Locum to work within their 20 Medical Practices within the Hutt Valley close to Wellington city. This position will be employed by the PHO with the opportunity for both a short term and/or long term position with flexible working arrangements 8/10 to 10/10 to meet individual requirements.

Nestled by the Hutt River - the Hutt Valley is unique in the world for its pristine condition and trout fishing grounds. The Hutt is set amongst bush-clad hills with easy access to recreational pursits ranging from quiet native forest and riverside walks to the varied mountain biking terrain and the numerous golf courses. The Hutt Valley is the capital gateway to the outdoors; by only a 15 minute drive or 20 minute train ride south to Wellington City.

The candidate would ideally have obtained approval to work in New Zealand and have applied for New Zealand Medical Registration as set by the Medical Council of New Zealand. In addition appropriate experience, knowledge and skills to provide personal, family and community orientated comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals would be required.

Manuka Medical Centre - Practice Nurse (Maternity cover)

This is a temporary position for one year. Both of our job share practice nurses are pregnant due late February so we need someone (or 2?) to hold the fort while they nurse their babies. What's in it for you is that we are an integrated health centre with doctors that use nutritional medicine, herbs and other "alternative" aspects of health care. You will learn lots while you are with us! You must be able to use Medtech and have had suitable experience as a practice nurse. You must be able to supervise intravenous drips as well as all the usual practice nurse skills. We are a small practice with one receptionist, one nurse and one doctor on duty most days. So you need to be efficient, independent and experienced. In exchange we will teach you things you can learn nowhere else!
